Jewelry is korean word which is derived from the word jewelery. In Latin word it is called jocale and in French word it is called jouel. Jewelry is personal thing or item which is worn by a person such as necklace, ring, brooch and bracelet. It may be made from gemstones or precious metals like gold, silver, copper, bronze and may be from other material. Earing and other rings are also considered as jewelry. Jewelry is seen as wealth storage. In early times, jewelry were made up from natural materials, such as bones, animal teeth, shell, ivory, glass, enamel, wood and carved stone.

Jewelry is a social status symbol of wealthy people. The tradition of jewelry was coming from the past culture. And the trends of jewelry has got change with the passage of time. In past tradition, people were buried with their jewelry but now-a-day it is not so because of the high cost of the jewelry. But the belts or handbags are not considered as jewelry because these are considered as accessories.
